Working of 2-stroke Diesel Engine

In a two stroke engine one cycle of operation is completed in two stroke or one revolution of the crank shaft. It means a two stroke engine a power stroke produced during every revolution of crank shaft. But the four stroke engine power stroke is produced  after only two revolution of the crank shaft.

 I st Stroke
During this stroke piston  move upward direction(piston moves from bottom dead centered to top dead centered ). This time inlet port is open and exhaust and transfer port are closed. This time air entered into the crank case  also air which is already inside the cylinder. This air is compressed to very temprature and pressure at this state fuel injucted by fuel injuctor fuel start burning.

 II nd Stroke
The high pressure is developed due to the burning of the fueland the pushed the piston down wards(piston moves from top dead centered to bottom dead centered). During this dowm ward stroke exhoust and transfer port are open and inlet port  is closed. This time air from crank case will enter in to the cylinder throw transfer port. Also burning gass will escape through exhoust port or escape port.

Technical word using Diesel engine and it’s meaning
a.Top dead centered :      Position of piston at top of the cylinder it means highest position of piston inside the engine
b.Bottom dead centered :    Position of piston at bottom of the cylinder it means lowest position of piston inside the engine
c.Cylindrical bore :   The inside diameter of the cylinder is known as cylindrical
d.Stroke :       The motion of piston from one dead centered to other
e.Stroke length:     The distance between top dead centered and bottom dead centered
f.Swept volume :    The volume of the cylinder in between top dead centered and bottom dead centered
g.Clearence volume :  The volume of the cylinder in between top dead centered and cylinder head
